The ALANO knife gets its name and character from the ancestral breed of Spanish Alano dogs.
It is believed that this dog is one of the oldest breeds of hunting dog, and that it entered Spain with the Alan tribes in the fifth century, after the fall of the Roman Empire.
A dog with a tough and noble character, extremely brave when hunting wild boar or handling wild Brave Bull, and, above all, faithful servant of its masters. It was a war dog along with the very famous Tercios, and participated very actively in the conquest of America, during which Leoncico and his son Becerrillo became two well renowned Alanos, that were even paid the same salary as a crossbowman.
